The Bethel AllStars are strictly a non-profit organization. We have no paid positions or large corporate sponsors. It takes a lot of money to run a successful youth wrestling club. The money we receive at registration covers about 1/3 of the total operating budget. This includes entry fee for our wrestlers at tournaments, payment for facilities used, referee fees, insurance for our wrestlers, and awards. We have tried to make the burden on parents as reasonable as possible so, with that, fundraising is vital! We need the support of the entire club to fulfill our fundraising needs. Following is a brief outline of our current fundraisers. If you have any ideas on other possible fundraisers, please contact a board member.
Concessions: Our concessions help out a lot. Parents and families are encouraged to help out and support it at home events.
Run-a-thon: This is our biggest fundraiser!! Wrestlers will be given a pledge form and participation is mandatory. The minimum amount required for all wrestlers is $25. The average cost per wrestler for the season is about $100. So, just obtaining the minimum for each wrestler does not cover all of the expenses incurred for the season. Prizes are given to the child who raises the most money in the in the 8 and under group and the 9 and over group. Also there is an Iron Man award for the most laps run in the 8 and under and 9 and over groups. (Please note that the run-a-thon- will occur on the scheduled date no matter what the weather. Please dress your child appropriately.) Parents can run with the wrestlers. If you don’t want to run we need volunteers to count laps. Click here for Run-A-Thon Pledge form
Raffle Tickets: Raffle tickets will be sold at most home events. We will do a 50/50 raffle (50% of the money goes to the team and 50% goes to the winner.)
Donations: Donations are always welcome and appreciated. Some ideas for donations are: items for the concessions, gift certificate (either for prizes or to raffle), gift baskets (for either silent auction or raffle). If you have an item or an idea please contact a board member. We also appreciate any donations of shoes, kneepads, and/or singlets that are still in usable condition.
Bethel AllStar apparel: At practices and home events we will be selling “Hard Work and Discipline” t-shirts. We will also have an assortment of window decals and tattoos to show your support for our team. Monies from the t-shirts and decals will be a fundraiser for the team.
Simply Hot has a wide variety of Bethel AllStar apparel available. While the team does not make any money from these sales we encourage you to purchase things with our team logo and support your team. We will have forms available for ordering and there will occasionally be a representative from Simple Hot at practice but if you want to contact them directly their number is 253-847-3304
Entry Fees: Bethel AllStars will pay the entry fee for all of our wrestlers at tournaments* on our schedule with the exception of Kid’s Folkstyle State. At every Round Robin* there will be a $1.00 fee per wrestler that goes directly to the PCJWL, your wrestler will not be allowed to weigh in until their fee is paid, this fee is not paid by the Bethel AllStars. There is no fee for dual meets*.
NSF: Bethel AllStars relies on our parents to honor their commitments to the organization, as we honor our commitments to wrestlers and parents. If there is a problem with payment, we ask that you be up front with us and we will try to work with you. However, we will have to charge a $20 fee for all returned checks.
